i met her in a burning building we were standing on the top floor as the smoke filled our lungs we knew we had to run we could stay there no more we head for the window i smashed the glass open with my arm quickly moved our feet down toward the street our hearts beat louder than alarm the floors below us were blazing we knew that we would not make it when the fire gets too hot the moment's all you got so you had better take it sirens off in the distance were never gonna get there in time so i held onto her tight every ounce of my might for our last minutes of time and we had one last dance on the fire escape and our hair began to singe away and our skin began to melt away but the music it still played

my gramma always said whenever it rained outside "it's a good day for a murder so we better stay inside" cause you never know who is out there waiting for you you never know so let's let the storm pass through i always tried to listen to gramma but if i ever get stuck in the rain i keep an eye over my shoulder i keep my foot out of the drain cause you never know who is out there waiting for you you never know so just let the storm pass through you never know who is ready to take your life you never know who's got a gun, or a knife you never know who's gone crazy on days like this

i get the feelin' that you're gonna break my heart but i won't let it stop me i get the feelin' that i'm gonna fall apart but i won't let it stop me because the night that's what i live for because the sun is just no surprise in the moonlight i will always give more because the sun is just no surprise i get the feelin' that i'm gonna lose my nerve but i won't let it stop me i get the feelin' i'm gonna get what i deserve but i won't let it stop me i get the feelin' that you're gonna fuck with my head but i won't let it stop me i get the feelin' that i'm gonna wind up dead but i won't let it stop me

Tug of War 02:23
i was walking home from school when i ran into a fool who didn't like the way i existed he knocked me to the ground i made a whimpering sound as i resisted i tried to fight him back but i didn't have the knack for street fighting he stopped to tie his shoes but i still knew i would lose 'cause i always lose at tug of war i was early for the job working for this guy named Bob who would ride my ass no matter the day he knew that he was right even if he wasn't right and i would always do the shit whatever he say there was no use to argue or stand up for myself because he knew i needed the money for a new pair of shoes and he knew that i would lose 'cause i always lose at tug of war i'm lacing up my shoes but i know i'm gonna lose 'cause i always lose

about

A noise-spiced goth rock album littered with punk, and roots influence. Somewhere between Sisters of Mercy and Tom Waits this album sonically creeps together a woeful tale of addiction, possession, and the relentless pangs of monotony. Each song acts as a short chapter to the whole. The closer, Tug of War, ends things with a line that best describes the mood of the entire album. "I'm lacing up my shoes, but I know I'm gonna lose because I always lose."
